The United States promises to transfer a new aid package to Ukraine.
Washington plans to transfer a substantial aid package to Kyiv by the end of September. This was stated by White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan at the annual conference of the Yalta European Strategy (YES) in Kyiv, Bloomberg reported.
We are currently working on a significant package that brings together a number of different opportunities that we will try to implement by the end of this month, the official emphasized.
It is noted that Ukraine has repeatedly called on its allies to provide more air defense systems. A Biden administration spokesman noted that the United States is “in the process of receiving such systems from our partners.”
Sullivan also said that the United States is trying to provide Ukraine with tools to build protection around more energy infrastructure. The White House has also prioritized helping to protect Ukraine’s nuclear power plants.
Recall that on September 11, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced a new support package totaling over $700 million. Most of the funds will be used to restore Ukrainian energy and power grids. Part of the money should go to humanitarian support for Ukrainians and humanitarian demining.
