Donald Trump’s election campaign is not going well right now, and more and more of his fans are pointing to a possible culprit: far-right activist Laura Loomer, who has become close to Trump.
Loomer, for example, even accompanied Trump to the last debate with Kamala Harris, but this did not seem to help the Republican candidate, writes Bild.
Loomer is far-right, so much so that she has managed to scare off Trump’s right-wing circle. Loomer has joked that if Kamala Harris wins the presidency, “the White House will smell like bob cuts.” She also has a dubious theory that singer Taylor Swift only started dating football player Travis Kelce to sabotage Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.
One of Loomer’s latest proposals is to force ride-hailing companies like Uber to allow customers to book non-Muslim drivers.
Prominent American Republican politician Lindsey Graham warned of Loomer’s “toxic influence” on Trump. Graham wrote that Trump “better not let this become a great story.” In response, Loomer said Graham is gay.
Loomer ran unsuccessfully for Congress in Florida twice with Trump’s support. The activist calls herself a victim of the media that is critical of her. In 2021, she even published a book, Loomered: How I Became the Most Censored Woman in the World.
Loomer calls herself an investigative journalist. She dreams of becoming Donald Trump’s press secretary. But their friendship probably goes back a long way. For example, in 2015, when Loomer worked at Project Veritas, the organization received $10,000 in charitable donations from Donald Trump.
Project Veritas is an American organization founded by James O’Keefe in 2010. It produces investigative and provocative journalism. The organization is known for its hidden camera videos. They record various incidents and activities that they believe demonstrate unethical or illegal behavior by individuals and organizations. Project Veritas is often accused of using manipulative editing techniques and unethical journalism.
In June 2017, Loomer and Jack Posobiec, a far-right activist and supporter of then-President Trump, attempted to disrupt a performance of “Julius Caesar,” which drew parallels between the Roman emperor and Trump. Loomer was arrested and charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct.
In 2023, Laura Loomer’s mother, Joanna Elizabeth Loomer, posted photos of Loomer and Trump together on her Facebook page, and wrote about their visit to a golf club in New Jersey. According to Joanna, Laura and Trump are “friends.”
Trump posted a video with the caption, “Thank you, Laura!” In the video, Laura Loomer answers a question about why she is still single. The woman candidly answers that it is because of her obsession with Trump. Once, when her partner pointed this out, she said that Trump was “more important.”
