Berlin has made a clear decision not to transfer these missiles to Ukraine, said the German Chancellor.
Germany has no plans to send long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine, and this is a final decision. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said this at a press conference on Friday, The Guardian reports.
“Germany has made a clear decision about what we will do and what we will not do. This decision will not change,” Scholz said.
The media recalled that Germany has repeatedly refused to provide Ukraine with its own long-range Taurus missiles, despite numerous requests.
The publication added that at this time the United States and Great Britain, which have transferred long-range weapons to Ukraine, are actively discussing the possibility of allowing Ukraine to expand strikes on Russian territory. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said the deal the US and UK had “remained in their business.”
As you know, in April in Germany the number of people supporting the provision of Taurus cruise missiles with a range of several hundred kilometers to Ukraine increased. But most Germans are still against it.
