The Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on Telegram that on the morning of September 14, there were 16 enemy ships in the Black Sea, 7 of which were carriers of Caliber cruise missiles with a total salvo of up to 48 missiles. There are no enemy ships in the Sea of Azov.
The military added that during the day the passage through the Kerch Strait was made by:
in the Black Sea – 3 vessels, of which 3 are constantly moving towards the Bosphorus Strait;
in the Sea of Azov – 8 ships, of which 5 are moving from the Bosphorus Strait.
Why it matters: In recent months, the Russian Federation has withdrawn up to 4-5 ships to the Black Sea.
The last time the Russians withdrew more than 10 ships was in early February 2014.
