US President Joe Biden met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Washington.
The leaders of the two countries discussed a number of foreign policy issues of mutual interest. During the meeting, they, in particular, reaffirmed their strong support for Ukraine, which continues to defend itself from Russian aggression. This is stated in a statement published on the White House website.
The US President and the British Prime Minister also expressed deep concern over Iran and North Korea providing lethal weapons to the Russian Federation and China’s support for the aggressor country’s defense industrial base.
Biden and Starmer also reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to Israel’s security, stressing the need for a ceasefire to be signed, not only to free the hostages but also to increase aid to Gaza.
Both leaders also condemned attacks by Iran-backed Houthis on commercial shipping in the Red Sea.
Let us recall that the day before, White House National Security Representative John Kirby stated that the US does not yet plan to announce a new policy on Ukraine and the use of long-range missiles.
