The city of Konotop in Sumy Oblast, which suffered today, September 12, as a result of a Russian night air attack, has no money to restore water supply to homes and conduct an inspection of the technical condition of the houses.
The mayor of Konotop, Artem Semenikhin, announced this on the air of the Kiev24 TV channel.
Work is currently underway, all that we can do. We have a city council session today, I don’t know where we will look for this money from, he noted. We urgently need to allocate funds for an inspection of the technical condition of the (damaged – ed.) houses… Therefore, we still don’t know whether it is possible to replace windows there now or even let people in.
I want to send greetings to the Verkhovna Rada deputies who passed an absurd law and took money from local budgets, Semenikhin added. “We don’t have money to buy diesel fuel for the water utility to give people enough water.”
