A debate between US presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump took place in Philadelphia. 90 minutes, two breaks with no audience in the hall and no opening speeches.
The debate between Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris and Republican candidate Donald Trump drew 57.5 million viewers across seven networks. These are preliminary data from Nielsen, a company that specializes in measuring and analyzing media audiences, on Wednesday, September 11, Reuters wrote.
“This number exceeds the audience of approximately 51 million people who watched the debate between Trump and then-candidate Joe Biden in June,” the agency pointed out.
However, this data does not take into account viewers who watched the debate online, an increasingly popular tool as traditional television audiences decline, as well as those who watched the debate in bars and restaurants. Final data based on these viewers will be available later.
The television viewing record for a presidential debate was set in 2016, when 84 million people watched the debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.
Let’s remember that during the debate with Harris, Trump did not give a clear answer to the question of whether he wants Ukraine to win. At the same time, Harris announced his support for Ukraine.
CNN conducted a survey of registered voters who watched the debate. 63% of respondents believe Harris won. 37% of respondents preferred Trump.
