The Russians have been hard-pressed to respond to demands for the release of political prisoners in Ukraine, including the Crimean Tatars.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said the release of political prisoners from Russian captivity is difficult. There must be pressure from Russia’s international partners. He said this at a press conference in Kyiv.
According to Zelensky, it is difficult for the Russians to respond to requests for the release of our political prisoners, including the Crimean Tatars.
“There are exchanges of prisoners of war, because we can exchange prisoners of war for prisoners of war, you understand that they are brought here illegally with pressure from all partners, so that the system of all for all it’s still difficult for anyone else to do this,” the president noted.
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is working in this direction through partners such as the Emirates, Qatar, Turkey, and Azerbaijan. But for now, success is what it is.
We remind you that according to the Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets, there are 216 political prisoners detained by the Russians in the temporarily occupied Crimea since 2014.
