Spying on artillery near Chasovoy Yar: the SBU detained the Russian informant

Counterintelligence of the Security Service detained a Russian agent operating in the Donetsk region. The attacker spied on the troops holding the defense in the direction of Kramatorsk. The SBU press service reported this on Wednesday, September 11.

First of all, the agent tried to determine the battle positions of the artillery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, holding under the fire to control the attack groups of the invaders trying to capture Chasov Yar.

The enemy is also interested in the locations of the largest concentration of military equipment and ammunition depots of the Defense Forces.

To collect intelligence data, the invaders remotely recruited a 52-year-old resident of the front-line Druzhkovka. To recruit the man, the Russians involved an acquaintance of his, who left Ukraine for the Russian Federation in 2014 and later joined the operational brigade of the National Guard.

While in the temporarily occupied part of the Donbass territory, the militant acted as a “messenger” and sent information to the Russians.

The security service exposed the Russian agent in Druzhkovka, documented his criminal actions and detained him. During the searches, her mobile phone and SIM card, which she used to contact the aggressor, were confiscated.

SBU investigators informed the detainee of suspicion of high treason committed under martial law. The attacker is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of assets.
