The compulsory passport is part of Russia’s broader strategy to change the demographic composition of the occupied territories.
The Russian invaders want to “verify” the entire local population over 14 years old in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine by the end of 2024. The Center for National Resistance reported this on Tuesday, September 10.
The message indicates that a rigorous information campaign has begun among workers of enterprises, institutions, and organizations under employment.
“People are intimidated by taking away almost any rights. From the beginning of 2025, those who did not receive a Russian document will be placed in a special register and will be deprived of the status of “foreign citizen,” said of the message.
The CNS said that this compulsory passport is part of a broader Russian strategy to change the demographic composition of the occupied territories and an attempt to legitimize control over Ukrainian lands.
“The residents of the temporarily occupied territories are faced with a difficult choice: submit and lose their identity, or refuse and isolate themselves from society in their own land. This policy of the Kremlin is the next step towards forced Russification and assimilation of Ukrainians,” CNS said.
We remind you that the Russian occupiers, under the guise of teaching patriotism, continue a large-scale campaign to recruit young people in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
