The money will be used to improve security in Chad, as well as to create a new training facility to provide training for officers.
Hungary decided to give its share of 14 million euros from the Peace Fund to Chad, and not to Ukraine. This is what Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said, Telex reported on Monday, September 10.
It was noted that the money will be used to strengthen security in Chad, as well as to create a new educational institution to provide training for officers. Thus, “Hungary wants to improve Chad’s military and defense capabilities.”
Such a proposal from Hungary will be included in the agenda of the meeting of the Committee of EU Ambassadors, scheduled for September 26.
“We hope that this proposal will be accepted,” said the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry.
Szijjártó hinted at Ukraine, indicating that Hungary supports a “peaceful resolution of the conflict.” According to him, it is because his country refused to send this money to the European Peace Fund, which provides military aid to Ukraine.
Let’s remember that Szijjártó was earlier upset by the proposals of the head of European diplomacy to remove restrictions on the use of Western weapons by Ukraine.
