Firefighters saved an entire village from fire in the Kyiv region.
On Monday, September 9, dry vegetation in an open area caught fire near the village of Maryanovka in the Vyshgorod district. Due to strong winds, the fire quickly spread through hundreds of meters of fields, bushes and vegetable gardens. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported this on Facebook on September 10.
Private residential buildings, a farm with animals and a school were under threat. Firefighters from three regions were called in to extinguish the fire. They managed to extinguish the fire on an area of 2.8 hectares.
Let us recall that a new large-scale forest fire has recently broken out in the Chernobyl zone of the Kyiv region. Due to strong winds, the fire is quickly spreading to new areas. 399 rescuers and 103 units of equipment from the State Emergency Service, brought in from different parts of Ukraine, were involved in extinguishing the fire.
