Chinese leader Xi Jinping met with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre. At this meeting, the Chinese leader called for the creation of conditions for a political settlement of the war in Ukraine, Xinhua reported on Monday, September 9.
It is indicated that the politicians at the meeting will discuss the issue of the war in Ukraine. The Chinese leader stressed that he “encourages and supports all efforts that contribute to the peaceful resolution of the “crisis”, and will always continue to promote the ideas of peace and negotiation, as well as play a constructive role in promoting a political settlement of the Ukrainian “crisis”.
“It is hoped that all parties will work together to create favorable conditions for a political settlement of the crisis through dialogue,” Xi said.
It was previously reported that China is concerned about the worsening of the “crisis” in Ukraine due to the supply of Western weapons and attacks on Russian territory.
Beijing also considers its cooperation with Moscow “normal” and not directed against third parties.
