Iran has previously denied accusations of supplying ballistic missiles to Russia. The Iranian UN mission made a corresponding statement.
Despite the fact that official Tehran denies information about the supply of missiles to Russia, Iranian MP Ahmad Bakhshaesh Ardestani admitted that the country has equipped Moscow with ballistic missiles. Iran International wrote this on Sunday, September 8.
“We sent Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia,” said a member of Iran’s parliament’s national security committee.
Ardestani acknowledged military aid to Russia less than 24 hours after Iran’s UN mission denied The Wall Street Journal’s reporting on the transfer of short-range ballistic missiles to Moscow.
He explained that Iran needs to engage in barter to meet our needs, including importing soybeans and wheat. Part of the barter involved sending missiles, and another part involved sending military drones to Russia.
“It cannot be worse than now we are giving missiles to Hezbollah, Hamas and Hashd al-Shaab, so why not give them to the Russian Federation?”
At the same time, Iran denied accusations of supplying ballistic missiles to Russia. The corresponding statement from the Iranian mission to the UN was distributed by IRNA on Saturday, September 7.
Let’s recall that on September 6, The Wall Street Journal reported that Iran sent short-range ballistic missiles to Russia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called on Iran to refrain from transferring any kind of weapons and military equipment to Russia.
