Kyiv has made changes to the opportunities given to captured invaders, but they still adhere to the Geneva Conventions.
Captured Russian invaders will no longer have the right to make phone calls from Ukraine. Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets said this during the telethon.
According to him, there are currently four special camps in Ukraine for prisoners of war of the Russian Federation, the conditions of which comply with the Geneva Conventions.
“We understand that, unfortunately or fortunately, we cannot act like the Russians, we are changing some things. of the Russian Federation,” he recalled.
Lubinets emphasized that the position of the Office of the Ombudsman on this issue is very simple: according to the Geneva Conventions, there is a right to correspondence, and not to phone calls.
The Ombudsman noted that now Russians still have the opportunity to write letters, but they no longer have the right to make phone calls.
We remind you that earlier the CNN channel showed footage of the execution of prisoners of war in Ukraine by Russian criminals. The first video was shot near Pokrovsk at the end of August, the second in May in the Rabotino area.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the world to respond to the killings of prisoners of war in Ukraine.
