Tehran does not provide military aid to either side in the war, Iran’s UN mission said.
Iran has denied accusations of supplying ballistic missiles to Russia. The corresponding statement from the Iranian mission to the UN was distributed by IRNA on Saturday, September 7.
“Iran’s position regarding the Ukrainian conflict remains unchanged. Iran considers it inhumane to provide military assistance to the warring parties, leading to increased casualties, destruction of infrastructure and withdrawal from negotiations to the ceasefire,” the statement said.
The Iranian mission also called for an end to arms transfers to any of the warring parties.
“Iran not only refrains from such actions, but also calls on other countries to stop supplying weapons to the parties involved in the conflict,” Iranian diplomats emphasized.
Let’s recall that on September 6, The Wall Street Journal reported that Iran sent short-range ballistic missiles to Russia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called on Iran to refrain from transferring any kind of weapons and military equipment to Russia.
