It was said to have been preceded by a magnitude 3.8 earthquake that occurred on 09.02. At least four more earthquakes of lower magnitude were recorded in the province – up to 2.5 points.
According to the TRT Haber TV channel, the earthquake caused panic among the local population. The tremor was felt in the provinces of Kahramanmaras, Adana, Osmaniya, Gaziantep, Adiyaman, Kilis and Sanliurfa.
Damage assessment is ongoing, but no injuries have been reported.
