In Germany, a terrorist with a machete attempted to break into a police building.
The German publication Bild reported this today, September 6.
It is noted that the Albanian, who lives in the small town of Linz am Rhein (Rhineland-Palatinate), ran into the police station with a weapon at about 2.40 a.m. and burst into the first door. At the same time, he repeatedly exclaimed “Allahu Akbar” and claimed that he wanted to kill the police officers.
However, the criminal did not take into account that in order to reach the police, he would have to go through a second door, which could only be opened by the guard on duty. At the same time, the police officer, having pressed the button, was also able to close the outer door, so the terrorist was locked in.
The police tried to explain to the man via intercom how hopeless the situation was, but he would not calm down. Finally, a special forces unit (SEK) from Koblenz arrived and the criminal was subdued with a stun gun and arrested, the newspaper notes.
The prosecutor’s office said the initial investigation had found “signs of radical Islamist motives on the part of the accused.” During a search of his apartment, a flag of the Islamic State terrorist organization was found painted on the wall.
The criminal is currently in custody.
