The UK will supply Ukraine with multi-role LMM missiles to defend against drone and missile attacks from the Russian Federation. Reuters reported this on Thursday, September 5, citing British Defense Minister John Gili.
It is indicated that Ukraine will receive 650 light multi-purpose missiles worth 162 million pounds sterling ($213.13 million), which will help protect the country from Russian strike drones and bombings.
The new delivery of missiles was announced with the participation of British Defense Secretary John Gealey in a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at the Ramstein airbase in Germany.
“This new commitment will provide an important boost to Ukraine’s air defense,” Gili said.
The missiles, manufactured by the Thales Group, have a range of more than 6 kilometers and can be launched from various platforms on land, sea and air.
The first announced batch of missiles should arrive by the end of this year.
Defense Minister Rustem Umerov called on partners and allies to speed up the supply of weapons to protect Ukraine from daily Russian missile attacks.
