In Studenka, Izyumsky district, as a result of a large-scale fire that spread from the forest to the village, 308 houses were completely destroyed or damaged. This was announced by the head of the Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkov region, Sergei Bolvinov, on Facebook on Thursday, September 5.
“308 houses here have been destroyed or damaged by fire – that’s almost half of the village, the principal’s building was also burnt down today we recorded the destruction and losses, working with those who lost their homes,” he said.
Law enforcement officers are inspecting the consequences of the fire from the ground and the owners of the damaged buildings turned to the police to receive the status of the victims.
The head of the Kharkov OVA, Oleg Sinegubov, reported on Telegram that, despite the great destruction, residents remained in the village, more than 180 evacuees returned.
A humanitarian headquarters was created in the locality to help the people. The outpatient clinic for the general practice of family medicine continued its work, where doctors and humanitarian organizations work to provide medical and psychological assistance.
Earlier it was reported that due to a large forest fire in the Oskol community of the Izyum district, residents of the village of Studenok were evacuated. About 250 houses have been consumed by the fire.
