Authorized searches are being conducted in the premises of the Chernihiv City Council, the municipal enterprise, the commercial structure and the residences of its managers.
The National Police press service reported this today, September 5.
Operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department in Chernihiv and investigators of the Investigative Department of the regional police have exposed the fact of illegal alienation of land of the territorial community of the city, thereby causing damage in significant amounts, – the police note. – Officials, without holding an auction, as stipulated by law, granted the company a free right to develop (superficies) a land plot of municipal property.
It is noted that a gas station was subsequently built on this plot of land.
A criminal case was opened on the fact of abuse of official position by officials (Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), the police noted. – After conducting procedural actions and analyzing the information received, procedural decisions will be made.
Acting Mayor of Chernigov, Oleksandr Lomako, for his part, stated that he sees political pressure in these searches.
Only people with machine guns burst into the Chernihiv City Council. It turned out that these were security forces who burst in with a resolution, for which they need documents from 7 years ago for 2017. On this basis, armed people physically blocked the work of the entire city council, – he noted.
According to Lomako, as a result, the work of all structural divisions was paralyzed, including those involved in organizing and holding tenders for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and preparing the city for the heating season.
A group of security officials, instead of receiving the documents they need upon written request, are searching my office and other premises of the city council. We see this as a continuation of political pressure, he said.
Lomako later added that armed law enforcement officers came “in accordance with the decision of the session and the executive committee, which were posted on the official website of the city council.”
To do this, they stormed the office with machine guns. They posted guards in the corridors and went in to read out the resolution. Of course, they didn’t find any documents in the office. But they confiscated my personal mobile phone. This is already the fourth year. And the fifth search of me during this time, he said.
