Austria is ready to support any negotiations that take place without preconditions and at the same level, for a just and lasting peace based on international law.

Austria’s Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer assured that his country stands for a just peace in Ukraine based on international law. He announced this at Platform X on Thursday, September 5th.

Austria can be a place for Ukrainian-Russian negotiations.

“We note the statements of the President of Russia about his readiness for peace negotiations with Ukraine as a platform for negotiations as the country where the headquarters of the OSCE is located,” said Nehammer.

Earlier, Putin said that only three countries could mediate in hypothetical negotiations between Ukraine and Russia regarding a possible end to the war. According to him, it is, first of all, the People’s Republic of China, Brazil, and India.

In this regard, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky appreciated the possibility of talks with Putin. In his opinion, such talks are meaningless, because the Russian dictator does not seek to end the war diplomatically.

As you know, at the beginning of the summer Putin announced new conditions for negotiations with Ukraine. This includes the abandonment by our state of its intention to join NATO and the complete withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the regions of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye.
