European Commission representative Peter Stano said that the EC hopes to continue close cooperation between Ukraine and the EU after the changes in the Ukrainian government, European Pravda reports.
According to him, the EU closely monitors internal events in Ukraine.
“We are considering the recent changes in the government of Ukraine and in some key government positions,” Stano said.
He added that it is important for the EU to always have good and reliable partners “on the other side”, especially to have good and stable governance.
The EC representative expressed hope that the EU will be able to continue good cooperation with the new Ukrainian colleagues as effectively as before.
Commenting on the dismissal of Foreign Minister Kuleba, Stano said he only remembered the words of the EU’s top diplomat Josep Borrell, who “thanked Kuleba for everything he did for Ukraine and for everything they did together.”
Let’s recall that at a meeting on September 5, the Verkhovna Rada voted for the dismissal of Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.
The Rada also reportedly supported the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Olga Stefanishina.
