Ukraine will purchase ammunition using funds raised through the UNITED24 platform.
The Defense Procurement Agency has already concluded its first contract. The deal will include the purchase of ammunition for UAH 47 million. This is the first contract after the government gave permission to use the money collected on the platform for defense purchases. The Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported this on Telegram on September 4.
In May, it was noted that in May, the Cabinet of Ministers allowed the transfer of funds from deposits on UNITED24 to the procurement agencies of the Ministry of Defense.
We are very grateful to our fellow countrymen and citizens of the democratic world for their donations through the UNITED24 fundraising platform. For our part, we have the ability to purchase ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine as quickly and efficiently as possible, – emphasized the Director of the Defense Procurement Agency Marina Bezrukova.
As you know, United24 is a fundraising platform for collecting donations in support of Ukraine. Anyone from any country can donate money and receive a report on the funds collected. The funds are received on the official accounts of the National Bank, linked to the ministries.
Let us recall that on August 30, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, stated that the European military industry is gaining momentum and the European Union has prepared 700 thousand artillery shells for Ukraine out of the promised million.
