One of the power units of the South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant was unloaded at 33% of its rated capacity.
No accidents occurred at the South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant in the Nikolaev region. Energoatom reported this on Wednesday, September 4.
“Some problems were found in the operation of one of the power units of the station, after which it was lowered by 33% of the rated capacity – according to the regulations due to the presence of a problem The problem will be removed after Ukrenergo specialists restore the damaged lines and ensure the possibility of providing electricity,” – said the statement.
This event is said to be unrelated to the repair campaign at the station. The situation arose as a result of complex transition regimes that occurred due to enemy shelling of the Ukrenergo infrastructure. It is reported that they are accompanied by significant fluctuations in the parameters of the network (frequency, voltage, current) to which the power units are connected, with disconnection from the network.
Energoatom encourages to trust only official sources of information.
We remind you that today the media reported that two nuclear units at the nuclear power plant are not working at full capacity. Due to this, the generation deficit increased by 625 MW, sources said.
Earlier on Wednesday, Ukrenergo reported an increase in power outages due to power cuts at several energy facilities.
As is known, the Russian attack on August 26 disrupted the operation of two nuclear power plants in Ukraine. Four power units are disconnected from the network.
