The Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, Iryna Vereshchuk, has resigned.
The official wrote about this on her social networks.
Reboot. After almost three years in the Government, I submitted my resignation today. I thank the President for his trust!
Thanks to the Prime Minister and members of the government for their cooperation!
Thank you to the people’s deputies for your support!
Thanks to the team of the Ministry of Reintegration for their work and dedication!
I serve the Ukrainian people! – Vereshchuk wrote.
Vereshchuk once served as mayor of the city of Rava-Ruska in the Lviv region, was elected as an MP in 2019, and subsequently ran unsuccessfully for the post of mayor of Kyiv from the Servant of the People party.
Vereshchuk has become the fifth member of the government of Denys Shmyhal, who resigned on September 3. This was previously reported by Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna, Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleksandr Kamyshin, Minister of Justice of Ukraine Denys Malyuska and Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ruslan Strelets.
According to a LIGA.net source in the leadership of the Servant of the People faction, Stefanishyna is planned to be appointed Minister of Justice instead of Denis Maliuska.
At the same time, the source said, Stefanishin will remain Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration.
