A Russian armored personnel carrier was incinerated by Ukrainian defenders on one of the sections of the front.
The enemy BTR-82A tried to storm the guards’ positions in the Pokrovsky direction, but was completely destroyed. The fighters of the 15th operational brigade of the NGU “Kara-Dag” worked professionally. This was reported by the commander of the National Guard of Ukraine Oleksandr Pivnenko in Telegram.
The guards reported that last week they destroyed almost 20 units of enemy equipment in the Pokrovsk direction. The Russians mainly used infantry to assault, but some attacks were supported by armored vehicles or cars.
As is known, the BTR-82A is an armored personnel carrier, which is an improved version of the BTR-80. It differs in that it has reinforced armor and new weapons systems. The combat vehicle is equipped with an automatic 30-mm grenade launcher 2A72 and a twin 7.62-mm PKT machine gun, providing increased firepower compared to previous models.
This armored personnel carrier has an upgraded fire control system and modern communications equipment, which improves its tactical capabilities. The BTR-82A is designed for use in mechanized units and can operate both in urban and off-road conditions.
Let us recall that servicemen of the “Groza” battalion, which is part of the First Operational Purpose Brigade of the National Guard “Burevoy”, showed footage of combat operations in the Serebryansky forest in the Luhansk region. The defenders beat the occupiers with grenade launchers, small arms and sniper rifles.
