During a combined missile attack today, September 2, in the morning, the Russian invaders used, in particular, a 48N6DM anti-aircraft missile from the S-400 complex in the surface-to-surface mode to attack Kiev.
The missile was successfully destroyed by Ukrainian air defense systems, Defense Express reported, citing its own sources, publishing photos of the debris from the downed missile.
In the case of using the 48N6DM against the S-400, the particular danger lies in the fact that these anti-aircraft missiles in the surface-to-surface mode have extremely low accuracy, and can primarily threaten civilian infrastructure and ordinary residents, the publication notes.
It is noted that anti-aircraft missiles of this type have a fairly powerful warhead weighing 180 kg, equipped with a significant amount of debris, which enhances the impressive effect when hitting civilian infrastructure objects.
In the morning report of the Ukrainian Air Force Command, it was reported that during today’s combined attack, the Russians used, in particular, four S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles and one missile of an unspecified type from the Belgorod region of Russia.
