The parties jointly stressed that NATO needs to adopt a new strategy for Russia, because the Kremlin is “at war against the West.”
Czech Defense Minister Jana Chernokhová met with Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto. The parties, in particular, spoke about support for Ukraine. Radio Prague International reported this the day before, on August 31.
Chernokhova and Crosetto spoke about the security situation in Africa and the Middle East, Czech-Italian defense-industrial cooperation, as well as the acquisition of American F-35 aircraft.
The ministers also discussed the results of the NATO summit held in Washington on July 9-11.
“The summit sent a clear signal that our defense is strong. But it is also clear that there is much more to be done,” she explained.
The parties jointly stressed that NATO needs to adopt a new approach to Russia, as the Kremlin “is already waging war against the West, conducting attacks in cyberspace and sponsoring attacks by terrorists and arson in our countries.”
Let’s remember that the previous Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipovsky said at the Globsec security conference in Prague that the Czech Republic does not impose any restrictions on Ukraine’s use of its military equipment, but the attitude of some ally on this issue.
While Italy does not allow Ukraine to use the weapons provided to it to attack Russian territory.
