The drone attack was repelled by Ukrainian troops last night.
On the night of August 31, the enemy launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile attack from the Voronezh region and four S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles from the occupied Donbass. And 52 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs flew in from the Kursk region. The Ukrainian Air Force reported this on Telegram.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Frontier Forces and the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the Russian air attack. The air defense operated in the Kyiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, Dnepropetrovsk, Chernigov, Kirovograd, Nikolaev and Sumy regions.
The command emphasized that 24 Shaheds were shot down, and 25 were lost in location — they fell on their own. In addition, two drones flew back in the direction of Russia, and another one — to Belarus.
The debris of the downed drones fell in the Kyiv and Cherkasy regions. In particular, in the Kyiv region, the debris fell outside of populated areas in open areas. Forest and grass litter caught fire in three areas.
And in Cherkasy district, four private houses were damaged. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
Let us recall that today Kyiv was attacked for the fourth time in a week by Russian Shahed UAVs. The enemy’s loitering munitions approached the capital all night, in waves and from different directions. The air raid alarm was declared in the capital four times and lasted for almost four hours.
