The Kremlin press service announced that during this visit it was also planned to sign several bilateral documents.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will make an official visit to Mongolia on September 3 at the invitation of Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh. This was stated by the Kremlin press service.
The head of the ruling regime of the Russian Federation must take part “in the ceremonial events dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the joint victory of the Soviet and Mongolian armed forces against the Japanese militarists on the Khalkhin Gol River.”
“During the negotiations, the heads of state will discuss the prospects for further development of Russian-Mongolian relations of a comprehensive strategic partnership and exchange views on current international and regional problems,” said statement.
It is planned to sign several bilateral documents.
“Vladimir Putin is also scheduled to speak with the head of the Great State Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia, D. Amarbayasgalan, and the Prime Minister of Mongolia, L. Oyun-Erdene,” the press service added.
It should be noted that Mongolia signed the Rome Statute in 2000. However, the country ratified it in 2003. Thus, it is a party to the International Criminal Court and is obliged to abide by its decisions.
In December 2023, a judge from Mongolia became an ICC judge for the first time. The country’s president declared that this is a “sign of the growth and strengthening of the country’s reputation in the international arena and the trust of international organizations in Mongolia.”
