The estimated number of maritime supplies from the DPRK to the Russian Federation is almost double the number announced by South Korean intelligence in February 2024.
Since 2022, North Korea has transferred more than 13 thousand sea containers to Russia, which South Korean intelligence suggests contain weapons. Newsweek wrote this on Wednesday, August 28.
For two years, North Korea has been supplying weapons through the eastern port of Najin. The containers could contain more than six million 152-mm artillery shells. In addition, the DPRK sent 122 mm artillery shells, mobile anti-aircraft missile systems, anti-tank missiles and other military equipment and weapons.
Currently, the estimated number of maritime shipments is almost double the number announced by South Korean intelligence in February 2024. South Korean Defense Minister Shin Won Sok suggested that the DPRK sent 6.7 thousand sea containers with arms in the Russian Federation.
In exchange for arms supplies, Russia provides North Korea with energy resources, as well as space technology to create missiles and spy satellites.
It was previously reported that Russian troops began using the North Korean long-range self-propelled anti-tank missile system Bulsae-4 against Ukraine.
Let’s recall that on June 19, the leaders of Russia and the DPRK, Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un, signed an agreement on a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
