In seven months of 2024, more than 2.3 thousand criminal cases for pornography were opened in Ukraine. Every second of them is related to content with children.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 2.3 thousand criminal cases for pornography have been recorded in Ukraine. At the same time, the number of cases for child pornography for the third consecutive year exceeded the number of cases for adult content. It was reported by Opendatabot on Wednesday, August 28th.
It is noted that production is increasing in general: 27% more cases have been opened for adult content than in the whole of the previous year.
In particular, we are talking about 1145 criminal proceedings under Art. 301 of the Criminal Code “Import, manufacture, sale and distribution of pornographic objects” and 1198 proceedings under Article 301-1 related to child pornography.

In GPU reports, these two articles began to be separated in 2022.
This year, 68% of cases involving adult porn content came to court. Compared to last year, 72.5% of such cases were brought to court.
Statistics on the content among children are different: only 57% of cases under Art. 301-1. In the corresponding period last year, 69% of such cases were brought to court.
At the same time, since the beginning of the year, 21 cases for adult pornography and 25 cases for child pornography have been closed.

The state does not have a clear understanding of what exactly is considered “distribution” of pornography, and the article does not distinguish between one’s own nudity with a partner and commercial sexual content.
Last year, bill No. 9623 registered the partial decriminalization of pornography, especially in the field of adult content. However, since then there has been no progress on the bill.
“Decriminalization of voluntary adult pornography will save budget funds and provide additional revenue to the state budget through taxes, while at the same time helping to reduce corruption in law enforcement agencies. in particular, cases of distribution of child pornography Office of Effective Regulation BRDO Igor Samokhodsky.
We remind you that earlier representatives collected signatures for a bill on the decriminalization of pornographic content.
