An electronic queue will be launched in Ukraine, through which patients will be able to receive endoprostheses.
The chairman of the relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Mykhailo Radutsky, wrote about this on his Facebook page.
Endoprosthetics is an operation during which a person is given an artificial joint instead of a damaged one. The launch of an electronic queue will allow endoprostheses to be received through a transparent queue free of charge.
As Radutsky said, last year the Ministry of Health monitored the use of endoprostheses. As it turned out, 48% of all surgical operations with endoprosthetics were performed in institutions to which the purchased endoprostheses were not distributed. In other words, doctors did not apply for supplies, and patients bought them at their own expense, paying informal payments.
In order to make this process as transparent as possible, it was decided to introduce an electronic queue. It will ensure transparent distribution of endoprostheses and the queue of patients for operations, planning and calling patients for operations according to the queue, accounting and registration of all operations in a single system, the ability to analyze, monitor and plan the purchase of endoprostheses.
This year, the Ministry of Health purchased 37.8 thousand units of hip and knee endoprostheses, their delivery is scheduled for the end of 2024. Medical institutions have remnants of endoprostheses that were purchased earlier.
In the near future, the electronic queue will operate in test mode. It is also planned to train specialists on the correct use of the system. We expect a full launch in January 2025.
