Terrorists from the Russian ArBat battalion published a video with the first wanted Indonesians.
Russia has begun recruiting mercenaries from Indonesia for the war in Ukraine. The Russian opposition publication The Moscow Times writes about this in connection with a message from the ArBat battalion, which is part of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“There are already some local residents who are ready to go to the Donetsk People’s Republic, undergo training with our instructors and fight with weapons in their hands,” the unit’s Telegram channel said. The post was accompanied by a video of Indonesians shouting praise for the battalion.
It is noted that ArBat is a special forces detachment created in September 2022, which is a traveling group of attack aircraft. It was ordered by former Wagnerite Hayk Gasparyan with the call sign “Abrek”. On July 1, 2023, the battalion officially became part of the structure of the Russian Ministry of Defense. Currently, Arbat militants are fighting in the Kursk region.
The founder of the division is Armen Sargsyan. According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, this is a crime boss from the Donetsk region, with the nickname “Gorlovsky”. He was associated with the fugitive former president Viktor Yanukovych and was called the organizer of the “titushki” who opposed the Maidan. Since 2014, Sargsyan has been on the international wanted list at the request of Ukraine.
