Following the massive Russian attack on August 26, EU Foreign Minister Josep Borrell stressed on Twitter that lifting restrictions on the use of weapons against Russian troops involved in the aggression against Ukraine, in accordance with international law, would strengthen Ukrainian self-defense, protect people’s lives and reduce destruction in Ukraine.
Russia has stepped up its aggression, resuming massive attacks across Ukraine, targeting civilian infrastructure, including hydroelectric power plants, and causing human casualties, Borrell wrote.
And it clarifies that the insurance of restrictions on the use of opportunities against the Russian municipality is complicated by aggression in Ukraine, in accordance with international law, should be completed by Ukrainian self-defense, reliable life and restructuring in Ukraine.

He also noted that Ukraine needs air defense immediately.
Let us recall that in the autumn Borrell will bid farewell to Brussels and Strasbourg, and his post will be taken by former Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas. Her candidacy has yet to be approved by the European Parliament.
