Hezbollah said it fired 320 rockets and several drones at Israel in response to the killing of the group’s commander, Faud Shukr.
This was reported by the Times of Israel on August 25.
Their targets were 11 military bases in northern Israel, some of them in the Golan Heights.
Israel has deployed about 100 fighter jets to attack Hezbollah targets, destroying thousands of militant shells aimed at the north and center of the country, an IDF spokesman said.
A rocket fired from Lebanon during a Hezbollah morning attack hit a chicken farm in the Western Galilee community of Manot. Firefighters are working to extinguish the fire caused by the rocket;
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz has called on dozens of foreign ministers to support Israel in the fight against Hezbollah, Iran and their proxies, stressing that the IDF struck Hezbollah in Lebanon after discovering a planned drone strike. Katz stressed that Israel is exercising its right to self-defense and that Israel is not interested in an all-out war;
Another unnamed Israeli government official also confirmed that his country is not interested in an escalation that could lead to war in Lebanon.
This is not an attack aimed at starting a war, but rather at removing a serious threat to millions of Israeli citizens. The continuation of the escalation depends on Hezbollah’s actions,” the source told the Times of Israel.
Israel had previously said it was prepared to fire and launched preemptive strikes in southern Lebanon, which the IDF says destroyed thousands of missile launchers.
Let us recall that the Israel Defense Forces eliminated a Hezbollah commander in Beirut at the end of July.
