He participated in stabilization missions in Iraq (2004-2005).
In 2006, he was deputy military attaché in Islamabad, and in January 2007, he became a colonel and military attaché in Afghanistan, a post he held for three years.
In October 2009, he became the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Ministry of Defence in Afghanistan. In this position, he was, among other things, one of the developers of the strategy of the Polish military presence in Afghanistan.
In 2012, he retired with the rank of colonel, after which he became ambassador to Afghanistan. He completed his mission on December 31, 2014. After returning, he was engaged in journalistic, teaching and expert activities.
