The total cost of the new package will be $125 million. These include counter-drone systems, HIMARS ammunition, artillery shells, Javelin systems, vehicles and more.
The US Department of Defense on Friday, August 23, published a list of weapons that will be included in the new aid package to Ukraine. Its value is estimated at $125 million. The list is published on the Pentagon website.
The package contains:
-
C-UAS counter-drone system;
-
ammunition for HIMARS;
-
artillery shells of 155 and 105 mm caliber;
-
TOW missiles;
-
Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems;
-
HMMWV military vehicles;
-
ammunition for small arms;
-
medical equipment;
-
spare parts, service, training, transportation.
The Pentagon also noted that the United States and the international coalition of nearly 50 NATO members and partners remain committed to supporting Ukraine as it continues to resist Russian aggression.
We remind you that on Friday, US President Joe Biden called his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky and announced a new military aid package for Ukraine.
In the past, the media reported that these weapons were being provided as part of the President’s arms reduction authority, which meant they were taken from Pentagon stockpiles and could be delivered more quickly.
