The third assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces began an offensive in the Kharkiv region.
The Third Separate Assault Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that it had carried out a counterattack operation in the Kharkiv region and advanced deep into the front. The press service of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade reported this on Telegram on August 22.
As a result of the counterattack, the military managed to take control of the battalion defense area of the occupiers, enemy platoon and company strongholds and advance almost 2 square kilometers deep into the front.
It is noted that the balance of forces on the battlefield is 2.5 to 1 in favor of the Russians, and there are also “enemy support forces.”
Brigade commander Colonel Andrei Beletsky said the main objective of the deal was to disrupt the offensive potential of the 20th Army of the Russian Armed Forces. This objective has now been accomplished.
The 3rd Separate Assault Brigade noted that in four days the occupiers lost 300 soldiers in manpower, and the Ukrainians destroyed or damaged a significant amount of equipment and weapons.
The statement said that the assault actions diverted the Russian attack in the direction of Makeyevka and relieved tension from other critical sections of the front in the areas of neighboring brigades.
Now the invaders are stepping up the use of aviation, multiple launch rocket systems and long-range artillery. The enemy is trying to regain what was lost, but the Third Assault Group assured that it is “holding the lines.”
Let us recall that Russian war correspondents recently stated that Ukrainian troops had launched an offensive in the Zaporizhia region. Officially, the General Staff or Ukrainian brigades did not report an offensive.
