The reduction of Russian troops in the region should be related to the successes of Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region of Russia.
The commander of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, Raimundas Vaiksnoras, announced a significant reduction in Russian ground forces in the Kaliningrad region. Delfi made it known.
He noted that this reduction should be related to the successes of Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region of Russia.
“As soon as the war in Ukraine began, a large number of equipment and personnel were transferred from Kaliningrad. When the round took place, the Russians returned, but now, and it is clear, one can see a significant decrease in, let’s say, ground forces,” Vaiksnoras explained.
However, the commander warned that Russia has not stopped its attempts to control the Baltic region.
The commander urged not to lose vigilance, because the Russian air defense system does not stop being strong and they are still trying to control both the Baltic Sea and the Baltic region as a whole.
Let’s recall that earlier the Minister of National Defense of Lithuania Laurynas Kasciunas said that after the fighting started in the Kursk region, Russia was transferring military personnel there from the Kaliningrad region.
It is also known that the Russian Federation is moving troops from the occupied territories of Kherson and Zaporozhye.
