On the night of today, August 22, Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with ten Shahed-type attack drones launched from the Kursk direction.
The Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Nikolai Oleshchuk, reported this on his Telegram channel.
The majority of the identified “shahids” were used by the enemy to attack the positions of the Ukrainian defense forces in the frontline territories of the Kharkiv region, Oleshchuk noted.
The enemy also used missiles:
- Kh-31P anti-radar missiles were launched from the airspace over the Black Sea;
- Two Iskander-M ballistic missiles were launched from Russia’s Belgorod region and occupied Crimea.
Air defense forces and means shot down two attack UAVs, two more were lost in location (fell on their own). As a result of active counteraction, most of the enemy missiles did not reach their targets. There were no casualties or serious consequences, – Oleshchuk noted.
