The Netherlands will transfer 51 radars to Ukraine in the last quarter of 2024. They will arrive in stages.
The Netherlands is buying mobile radars for Ukraine, which will be delivered by the end of this year. This was announced by the Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, Ruben Brekelmans, on the social network X on Wednesday, August 21.
Russia is shamelessly attacking with drones. Credible air defense is essential. Therefore, we are buying the 51st mobile radar for Ukraine. The supplier of these radars is the Dutch company Robin Radar Systems. This year they are in Ukraine,” he wrote.
The ministry’s website says the systems are capable of detecting small drones and distinguishing them from birds. A unique feature of radars is that they do their work on a mobile platform.
It was noted that the radars monitor the environment for the presence of enemy drones even at high speeds.
“Since the detection system is mobile, it is more difficult for the enemy to find the radar, and therefore more difficult to neutralize it. This makes it possible to continuously detect and then destroy enemy drones,” the report said.
The Netherlands is expected to transfer 51 radars to Ukraine in the last quarter of 2024. They will arrive in stages.
