The Security Service has neutralized another FSB agent group operating in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
Six citizens transmitted information about the location of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, air defense systems and other military facilities. They prepared coordinates for Russian air strikes on military and critical infrastructure facilities in the region.
Among the enemy’s priority targets were enterprises producing unmanned aerial vehicles for the Defense Forces, the SBU says.
The occupiers were also interested in the locations of repair bases for military equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and key highways that are used to transport Ukrainian weapons and ammunition to the front lines.
In order to correct the fiery defeat, the Russian special service created a Telegram channel for agents in Ukraine, through which they sought out supporters of racism.
To maintain secrecy, the agents operated separately from each other in different populated areas of the region, but reported to a single FSB supervisor.
To identify the locations of UAV manufacturing plants, agents used personal connections among local residents, asking them for the necessary information “in the dark.”
SBU counterintelligence officers gradually documented all members of the FSB agent group and detained them.
During the searches, 16 mobile phones, laptops and tablets with evidence of communication with the Russian special services were found in the possession of the defendants.
