The detainee conducted DDoS attacks on critical objects of the Russian Federation to undermine Russian information security.
The FSB announced the initiation of a case of treason against an employee of a scientific organization suspected of carrying out a DDoS attack, allegedly on instructions from Ukrainian special services, RosSMI reported.
It was noted that the defendant was previously imprisoned in Moscow for unlawful influence on critical information infrastructure.
According to investigators, he proactively established contact with representatives of the Ukrainian special services. On their instructions, the detainee carried out DDoS attacks on critical facilities of the Russian Federation in order to destroy Russian information security.
Also, according to investigators, he collected information about Russian military personnel and the movement of military equipment. In addition, he continued to transfer personal funds and cryptocurrency to the accounts of funds registered in Ukraine for the purchase of weapons, military equipment and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The detainee allegedly testified, he was arrested and placed in the pre-trial detention center.
Let’s recall that the Moscow Regional Court found the top manager of the Lukhovitsky Aviation Plant, Mikhail Baranov, guilty of high treason and sentenced him to nine years in prison.
Earlier in Russia, a man was sentenced to 16 years in prison for attempting a coup.
