The US Department of Defense reported a better understanding of the Ukrainian military operation in the Kursk region.
Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin spoke with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. This was announced by Sabrina Singh, Deputy Press Secretary of the US Department of Defense, in a briefing on Monday, August 19.
Austin spoke with Umerov about Ukraine’s military operations and discussed continued allied support for Ukraine’s urgent military needs, he said.
“President Zelensky (the other day) spoke about Ukrainian goals in the Kursk operation, so I can’t give anything more than that. But I can’t give more details,” Singh said.
Let’s recall that on Monday Zelensky said that Ukrainian troops already control more than 1,250 square kilometers of territory and 92 settlements in the Kursk region.
