On the first day of the operation, there were unexpectedly few casualties among the ranks of the Ukrainian military. At the same time, the number of prisoners sometimes reaches 150 people per day
The offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region is the first of the “several stages” of the operation. The head of the military administration of the city of Sumy, Alexey Drozdenko, told The Guardian about this, sharing some unknown details of the Ukrainian invasion.
Drozdenko said he was directly involved in planning the operation and was part of a narrow, trusted circle of startups. According to him, he could not say much about the preparations for the invasion, as it was only the first stage of the operation.
“We see only part of this operation; in the future we will see several stages,” said Drozdenko.
He also said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces sometimes take “100-150 prisoners of war” per day, many of them conscripts who do not want to fight.
In addition, he said that hospitals in Sumy were preparing to receive many wounded after the invasion began, but as a result of the operation there were unexpectedly few casualties.
“On the first day of the operation, only 15 were wounded. Sixty, seventy percent of them were very light, caused by bomb damage and shrapnel,” he added.
It was previously reported that Russia has moved thousands of military personnel from Ukraine to the Kursk region.
