Belarus has redeployed almost a third of its army to the border with Ukraine.
Belarusian special services and special forces are also working there. Such maneuvers by Minsk are connected with the fact that there are supposedly more than 120 thousand Ukrainian military personnel there. This was stated by the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in an interview with Belta.
Seeing their aggressive policy, we brought in and deployed our military along the entire border at certain points, as would be the case in a war or defense. Moreover, special services are working there, special forces units – “Alpha”, “Almaz” and others – are the best trained, they are doing their job, – he said.
According to Lukashenko, Ukrainian troops are on the border with Belarus because Kiev believes that “Putin will again attack from the territory of Belarus.”
In response, I was forced to transfer almost a third of the army to strengthen what was there, Lukashenko emphasized.
The State Tax Service of Ukraine has already responded to the dictator’s statement. Border Service representative Andrey Demchenko said in a comment to Ukrainska Pravda that border guards are not recording an increase in the number of equipment or personnel of Belarusian troops at the border with Ukraine. The situation on the border with the Republic of Belarus is unchanged.
Let us recall that on August 10, self-proclaimed Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated that Ukraine allegedly violated the country’s airspace on August 9. According to him, at an altitude of 1.5 km and a range of 6.5 km, Belarusian air defense destroyed several targets over the country’s territory. After that, the dictator ordered the reinforcement of the Belarusian troop group near the border with Ukraine.
However, the monitoring group “Belarusian Gayun” stated that Lukashenko’s statement about the alleged downing of “Ukrainian” drones in Belarus does not correspond to reality.
