The Russian army has lost another air defense system at the front.
In particular, a Russian self-propelled anti-aircraft missile and gun system “Pantsir-S1” was destroyed in the Kherson region. The hostile target was dealt with by fighters of the 140th separate reconnaissance battalion – a military intelligence unit of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as part of the marines. The naval forces reported this on Facebook on August 16.
The military also released a video of combat operation. The footage shows the Russian ZGRK being blown to pieces after a direct hit.
As is known, the Pantsir-S1 is a Russian self-propelled ground-based anti-aircraft missile and gun system, developed in 1994 and adopted by the Russian army in 2012. It is armed with two twin 30-mm 2A38M cannons and two launchers for 12 radio-controlled anti-aircraft missiles.
Let us recall that in July, the M142 HIMARS multiple launch rocket system, in cooperation with an aerial reconnaissance drone, destroyed the Russian Pantsir S-1 ZGRK. The enemy target was hit 30 km from occupied Donetsk.
