There are no guarantees that Russia will not respond to crossing “red lines” in the future, the Pentagon believes.
So far, Russia has not responded to any so-called crossing of “red lines.” However, this does not mean that he will not respond in the future. This was said by Deputy Pentagon Representative Sabrina Singh, reports Voice of America on Friday, August 16th.
Journalists asked why the United States still believes that long-range strikes deep in Russia will lead to escalation, despite the fact that now there is not a single crossing of the “red lines” set by the Russian Federation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine led to a response.
The deputy Pentagon spokeswoman said there are no guarantees that Russia will not respond in the future.
“Just because Russia hasn’t responded to something doesn’t mean it won’t respond or won’t respond in the future,” Singh explained.
At the same time, the representative of the Pentagon emphasized that weapons and defense equipment are supplied to Ukraine not only by the United States, but also by a coalition of partners.
“We believe that the best way for them to be effective on the battlefield is to combine these capabilities together and continue to deny Russian forces to regain their sovereign territory. Of course, we are concerned about the escalation ,” Singh said.
We remind you that Ukraine applied to the United States with a request to obtain permission to use ATACMS ballistic missiles for attacks on military airfields on the territory of Russia.
As you know, Canada allowed Ukraine to use weapons provided on Russian territory. In the past, Germany has allowed the Ukrainian Armed Forces to use weapons “at their own discretion.”
